US-95: Potlatch Bridges

Replacing two aging bridges and adding turn lanes will make the highway safer.

Two aging bridges—one over Deep Creek and another over the Washington-Idaho Railroad (WIR)—will be replaced. Turn lanes will also be added at the junction of US-95 and SH-6, as well as US-95 and Kennedy Ford Road.

During construction, drivers will retain a lane in each direction but will not be allowed to pass. Temporary signals at one bridge and the SH-6 intersection will control traffic.

The public is invited to attend weekly meetings during construction at Potlatch City Hall every Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Width restrictions will be enforced—check 511 for updates.

Intersection improvements

Right and left turn lanes will be added on the highway to access Kennedy Ford Road, and a left turn lane from US-95 to SH-6 will be constructed.

To make the curve at the US-95/SH-6 junction safer and easier to navigate, the highway will also be realigned slightly. Note that the US-95/SH-6 junction to Potlatch will not be adjusted with this project.

Construction delayed

As part of the 2020 draft ITIP update, this project was delayed from 2021 to 2022.
