US-93 Twin Falls Improvement Projects

The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will improve the pavement on US-93 in Twin Falls as part of two rehabilitation projects that will begin this spring.

The two improvement projects include Pole Line Road (Blue Lakes Blvd. to Grandview Dr.) and Blue Lakes Blvd. (Perrine Bridge to Pole Line Rd.). ITD hosted a public open house about the Blue Lakes project on May 19 at Twin Falls High School from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. An online meeting is available on this website which presents the same information as the in-person meeting.

Pole Line Road (Blue Lakes Blvd. to Grandview Dr.)

The roadway surface will be improved to provide better traction and enhance safety for motorists. Business access may be briefly limited at night when equipment moves in front of a cross street or driveway.

During construction:

  • Work will occur overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to reduce impacts and congestion during commute hours for residents, businesses, and motorists.
  • During night work, lane reductions will be in place. All lanes will be open during daytime hours.
  • Business access will be maintained, but may be briefly limited when equipment moves in front of an intersection or driveway.
  • Construction will be noisy, including equipment and back up alarms.

Construction is scheduled to be complete in late spring. For questions, please call 208.387.7072 or email jennifer.gonzalez@hdrinc.com.

Blue Lakes Blvd. (Perrine Bridge to Pole Line Rd.)

The existing surface will be milled and replaced with new pavement and the southbound right turn lane will be reconstructed. Other improvements include ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades and traffic signal replacement at Fillmore St./Bridgeview Blvd. Preliminary signal work will occur during daytime hours. The pavement rehabilitation is scheduled during overnight hours to reduce impacts to commuters and nearby businesses.

Leading Idaho

As part of Governor Brad Little’s “Leading Idaho” initiative, the 2021 Idaho Legislature dedicated $126 million of one-time funds from Idaho’s budget surplus to transportation projects statewide. The funds were split 60/40 between ITD and local jurisdictions. Construction on this project is paid for with ITD’s portion of the funds that will accelerate projects to replace bridges, restore pavements, and improve mobility in communities across Idaho.
