Project Background
This portion of the interstate was built in 1963 and has seen numerous maintenance projects over the years. I-84 serves as a major east/west corridor throughout South-central Idaho and beyond.
Annual daily traffic counts on these roadways average approximately 24,000 vehicles per day. That number is expected to increase substantially over the next 20 years. At present, this portion of I-84 is showing signs of distress which, if left untouched, would continue to deteriorate.
Rehabilitation will resolve problems and allow for the roadway to support the growing demand of traffic along the interstate.
