The deteriorating roadway will be repaved
This project will repave ID-55 from milepost 91 to Smiths Ferry Drive (milepost 97). The current pavement is in poor condition. Reconstruction work could not begin until after the Spring melt. The project will mill out the exhausted asphalt and replace it with a new, fresh surface.
This $4 million project was awarded to to Idaho Materials and Construction.
Crews are allowed to work from midnight Monday to noon Friday, including nights. No work will be permitted during weekends. During work hours, the road will be reduced to one lane. Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic on either end of the lane closure. Anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes.
There will be no construction on the Monday of Memorial Day, May 27.
