ID-51, South Side Canal Replacement
A new box culvert will eliminate a narrow point on Idaho Highway 51
The existing culvert constricts the highway, posing a hazard for wide loads and requiring guardrail. The new bridge will accommodate two twelve-foot travel lanes, two-foot shoulders, and enough clear space that guardrail will not need to be reinstalled.
During construction, traffic over the bridge will be reduced to a single lane, controlled by flaggers or automated temporary signals. Motorists should anticipate a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
