Read MoreThank you to everyone who participated in our online and in-person open house between June 6 – 13, 2022. The project team will review comments and input submitted by community members and make plans for next steps in the project. Materials and information from the open house are available in the Downloads & Resources section below.
ITD plans to host an additional open house in 2023 to share updated design plans.
Most of I-15 was constructed in the 1960s and 1970s. With the increased population and travel across eastern Idaho, it is necessary to modernize aging infrastructure and increase capacity and safety to meet the region’s travel needs along the I-15 corridor.
This project is a part of a multi-year planning process to improve Interstate 15 between Pocatello and Idaho Falls. Due to the size of the corridor, the planning process is divided into several separate projects.
Improvements to this section of I-15 will be developed and designed based on technical data, environmental studies and input from the public. Improvements to be considered include:
Elements of this project are being funded with Transportation Expansion and Congestion Mitigation (TECM) funds as part of the Leading Idaho TECM Program. The program allows ITD to accelerate project timelines to address rapid growth and build critical infrastructure today that would otherwise take many years to fund and build.
