Project Overview

As part of the US Department of Transportation’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is partnering with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Office of Energy and Mineral Resources (OEMR) to gather statewide public feedback to help determine the future locations of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Once compiled, ITD will use its findings and other qualifying factors, such as existing infrastructure, capabilities, and accessibility, to select locations for infrastructure rollout.

Give Feedback

We invite you to offer your feedback on the placement of electric charging stations in Idaho.

Please join us for a Virtual Public Meeting (Zoom hosted) on July 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Register in advance for this meeting here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

About the NEVI Program

The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program was established by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to provide states with the necessary funding to strategically deploy EV charging infrastructure, establishing an interconnected network of EV charging stations across the United States. Municipalities or companies interested in receiving a federal grant may apply through ITD once the state plan is approved.

You can read more about the federal guidance for state EV infrastructure plans here.
