In Canyon County, traffic volumes on I-84 are projected to double between now and 2040. ITD recognized this corridor needs attention now, and in response allocated funding for these projects to meet the needs of today and prepare for the future.

The Idaho Transportation Department is designing improvements to Interstate 84 between the Karcher Interchange and Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa. The improvements are expected to improve safety, address congestion and benefit the regional economy for many years.

Traffic on Northside Blvd to be reduced to one lane in either direction between the I-84 ramps as crews move equipment and trucks at the Northside Interchange. Lane restrictions expected through the end of next week.
ITD continues to rebuild the shoulders along I-84 between the Franklin Boulevard and Karcher interchanges.
Starting Oct. 10, traffic on Northside Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the I-84 ramps during overnight hours (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Lane restrictions are expected to last through next week as crews will be moving equipment and trucks at the Northside Interchange.
