Siting, Feasibility & Access Study

ITD is a partner in the Interagency Working Group (IAWG) and is working with OEMR and DEQ on the NEVI Program in Idaho. Currently, the group is in the second phase of the project which includes completing a Siting, Feasibility, and Access Study (SFAS).

The IAWG will contract two pilot charging station locations as part of the analysis in the SFAS. If you would like to be considered as part of this pilot program, email the project team: [email protected].

2022 Public Outreach

In May 2022, the Interagency Working Group (IAWG) of Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), the Office of Energy and Mineral Resources (OEMR), and the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) conducted a coordinated public involvement campaign to gather feedback from stakeholders across the state. This feedback was critical in developing Idaho’s NEVI Plan, which approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in September 2022.

You can read Idaho’s approved plan here.

About the NEVI Program

The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program was established by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)  as part of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to provide states with the necessary funding to strategically deploy EV charging infrastructure, establishing an interconnected network of EV charging stations across the United States.
